What we offer
Through our public health initiatives we have been able to do a lot with the community and they have come to appreciate our work.
- Hand washing and Tooth brushing Clinics; we already have a set of procedures for this and we work with interest groups who go to the communities, mostly targeting the poverty stricken areas like the slums and villages. Volunteers are required to contribute towards purchasing of Tooth brushes, tooth paste and Liquid Soap for donation to the communities after the demonstrations. This will always come with a challenge because some communities we have previously visited lack water for such activities save for clean water for even drinking.
- Medical Clinics; This one too needs a collective effort and Volunteers would always work with Tai Global Elective to source for funding to purchase drugs for the communities and pay qualified local doctors who would provide free treatment and prescription of medication to minor ailments . Serious conditions are referred to the public hospitals but this one also comes with a challenge because even if we pay for consultation fee we can only do so much to help and some of these villagers would lack even fare to visit the Health Centres or Hospitals for follow up. Volunteers would be involved in taking vitals and learn from the Medical practitioners from an outside the hospital experience; previous students would pick a patient case from the village stage and follow up their treatment at the hospital.
